About Berkshire Medical Center
Berkshire Medical Center (BMC) is a 298-bed community teaching hospital and the flagship hospital of Berkshire Health Systems (BHS).
BMC offers a full continuum of medical specialties, advanced technologies for lab and imaging, and state-of-the-art surgical facilities, including orthopedic surgery, cancer care, behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment, general surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, neurosurgery, cardiology, and gastroenterology. BMC is a Level III Trauma Center and maintains major clinical partnerships with Baystate Health, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Mass General Brigham. BMC operates three independent residency programs in medicine, surgery, and psychiatry and is an affiliate of the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Boston University.
As the largest employer in Berkshire County, Berkshire Health supports more than 4,000 jobs in the region, and, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is committed to partnering with local municipalities and community organizations to help the county thrive.
