Berkshire Health Systems offers a comprehensive range of both inpatient and outpatient services guiding our patients to improved lifestyles.

We are an integrated, multidisciplinary team of trained rehabilitation professionals including: Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physiatrists, Rehabilitation Nurses.

We design an individualized treatment plan for each patient catered to their specific inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation needs. Patients also have access to the most up-to-date clinical equipment to help them reach their highest potential.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy promotes health and well-being for people with functional limitations, pain and/or other physical impairments. Our Physical Therapy team help to improve quality of life for our patients through prescribed exercises, hands-on care, and both patient and caregiver education. We treat patients of all ages with neurologic and musculoskeletal impairments.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy provides patient-centered therapy based on engagement in meaningful activities of daily living. Our Occupational Therapy team helps improve quality of life for our patients, enabling or encouraging participation in activities of daily living despite impairment and/or limitations. We treat patients of all ages with neurological and musculoskeletal impairments.

Some of our outpatient therapies include:

  • Hand Clinic: Specialized treatments for patients with hand trauma and impairments.
  • Driving Evaluation Program: Clinical evaluation for pre-driving assessment and remediation programs to assist in returning to drive.
  • Occupational Health: Post Offer Employment Testing and Job Site Analysis.
  • Pelvic Floor Therapy: Normalizing urinary, bowel and sexual functioning with pelvic floor strengthening, manual therapy, Biofeedback and lifestyle modification.

Speech-Language Therapy

Speech and language therapy provides a range of specialized services aimed at enhancing communication and addressing various challenges related to speech, language, and related functions.

Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation

At BHS our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program provides specialized care and support for individuals with chronic pulmonary diseases. Our team, including pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and dietitians, collaborating to improve your health and reduce the risk of future pulmonary complications. 

Cardiac rehabilitation is a crucial next step in recovery for individuals who have experienced a recent heart attack, heart surgery, angioplasty, or angina. Our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program includes education on heart-healthy living, and counseling to help our patients regain their active lifestyles. Our team takes a highly-individualized approach to patient care.

Wheelchair and Seating Clinic
Meets every Wednesday in 5th floor MAC
Individualized evaluations with a Physical or Occupational Therapist and technician to determine the apparatus and seating to align with a person’s functional goals

Prosthetic Clinic
Meets twice monthly on Wednesdays in 5th Floor MAC
Professional assessment teamed with a certified prosthetist and Physiatrist to provide customized fitting and device fabrication

Brace Clinic
Meets twice monthly on Fridays in 5th floor MAC
Professional assessment teamed with certified orthotist to provide customized fit of orthotics
